Calm Summer 2015

Hey all,
I for once have a nice calm summer, little modeling work, and no summer classes, is amazing! I can go back and fix older designs. Here is one where it took a while to kinda solidify in my murky brain. A nasty first sketch and failed attempts to force me to design what is important, before I go crazy painting. I tried Hot Press watercolor paper with the acrylics, was super soft with washes. I was amazed. Well here is the process for the calamity that is Szeth-Son-Son-Vallano, or the Assassin in white. Enjoy.

Sketch dump 4/18/2015

Hey everyone, I have been quiet lately, with work, homework, family, friends, and if any personal work. So before I dump a whole semesters worth of work on you, here is a nice sketch/paintings upload batch for you. Most of it is towards my thesis. Enjoy.

Fresh Illustration off the board 2/9/2015

Hey Everyone,
Here is an illustration that has gone through a lot of ideation and changes into the final here. Man, did I learn not to skimp on a well resolved value study. I also hired two models for this one, it helped out so much! This will be the last digital piece for a while since I kinda only want to use digital tools for planning and altering traditional work. I'm probably gonna have to come back sooner or later as my visual development needs are drawing closer. Anyway process as usual. Enjoy.

The start of my MFA in Visual Development

Hey All,
Today is the first day of my classes towards my MFA in Visual Development. So my post for the next year or so will be school work and my thesis project, which I am pretty sold on developing Brandon Sanderson's "the Stormlight Archives" as a worthwhile project. So to kick today off besides hw, here is a piece I submitted to spectrum. I usually don't go all digital, but I needed to make up time from being sick, so here you go. Kaladin Stormblessed and Shallan Devar with my idea of a chasm fiend. Enjoy.

Happy 2015!!

Hey all, here is my first post of the new year. The illustrations I have been working on since the end of October are finally getting finished. I am posting the process shots as usual. I did not do my usual underpainting for this one, so it went a little rough, but got through the ugly stage ok. I had to pull out a lightsaber to see how it would react to red glass, pretty colors for sure. Also I am going back to school to get my Masters degree in Visual Development, finally get to focus on characters, and story! So this year will be quite productive. Anyway, thanks for checking it out. Enjoy :]
