gesture painting WIP

I need to practice more gesture drawing so I did some and I chose this one to paint it was only 2 hours worth of time so I should finish it by this weekend

I finally got the motivation and enthusiasm that I lost since I got back from San Francisco and I really need to start kicking my own ass if I want to meet my 50 self portraits this year (I wanted 100 but When i get to 50 I'll see how I feel ) I really want to spend the time I need to get these self portraits to my level of completion anyway this one took about 4 or 5 hours in photoshop I'm including the reference photo it was hard without good lighting well at least I learned something about lighting.

I found some photos of charcoal projects from school I guess I should up load them just for fun.

getting back into digital

this is my return to digital I have decided to be proficient in both digital and traditional mediums that being said I have started summer classes but I will start again with my 100 self portraits I promise!

I started this painting last week and need to play with it in photoshop because I designed the composition to fit a girl in the middle but every one says leave it be? Well here are the thumbs and roughs then the final so far

This is the new beginning on my self portraits since my girlfriend gave me back my tablet I can do stuff digital now so here is one I did in sketch book pro. I still need to get more adept at digital mediums, but hey I must keep tugging at it.
